Q5. Is it possible to make a request by phone or e-mail only?

Q1. What is the difference between self-application and an application done by a specialist?

Difference 1.

You need to prepare documents according to the List of Required Documents distributed by Immigration Bureau. The documents listed are necessary ones in general. So it does not mean they are enough for all of the applicants.
For example:
: small number of days to stay in Japan as there are a lot of business trips.
: cannot find an employment.
: have record of overstaying.

The situation and the problem differs depending on the case. Inevitably so are the required documents.

There are 3 works of an Immigration Lawyer to deal with those situations and problems above.

  1. To introduce a method to raise the application success rate to the client.
  2. To prepare documents which is high likely to be accepted at an Immigration Bureau.
  3. To cope with officers at an Immigration Bureau on the client’s behalf.

To sum up the success rate is higher than the self-application and the application procedure goes smooth.

Difference 2.

Normally it is required to visit an Immigration Bureau a few times for an application.

  1. When confirming required documents for the application beforehand.
  2. When lodging application documents.
  3. When attaching a label to the passport after the visa or other visa granted.

On top of these it may be required to appear at an Immigration Bureau to give explanation on your situation or to lodge extra documents required.

In contrast if a specialist does the application for you, you have to do none of above. (Please note in some applications such as an application for Special Permission for Residence or an application for Naturalization are excepted)
