Case Overview | International Student Invites Spouse on a Dependent Visa

In this case, a customer residing in Japan on a student visa consulted us about inviting a spouse living overseas to Japan on a dependent visa. Before contacting ACROSEED, they had consulted another administrative scrivener office but were unable to receive a positive or proactive response, which left them anxious and unsure how to proceed. We helped organize the circumstances, created a clear list of required documents, explained the prospects, and supported the application through to approval.

  • Status of Residence: Student (supporter residing in Japan)
  • Consultation: Inviting a spouse living overseas on a dependent visa
  • Main Concern: Another office had said they could not really handle the case, so the application was not progressing
  • Our Support: Organizing circumstances → Listing required documents → Assisting with preparation → Supporting the application

Customer Experience | Relieved When the Application Was Approved After Going Nowhere with Another Office

This is a testimonial from a customer who consulted and entrusted us with the dependent visa application to invite their spouse to Japan.

Customer (from testimonial)
Request: Dependent visa (inviting the spouse of an international student)

My husband’s dependent visa was successfully approved, and I am deeply grateful to all the staff at ACROSEED. In particular, I would like to say to Mr. Miyagawa and Ms. Li, “We are truly glad the visa was granted. Thank you very much.”

My husband and I got married in April this year, and in early May he came to Japan for the first time on a short-term visa for family visit. Around mid-June, both we and our families came to the conclusion that it would be better for us to live together in Japan, so we decided to start the application for a dependent visa.

At that time, we first consulted an administrative scrivener office in Utsunomiya, Tochigi, which had been introduced to us by a friend. However, we were not able to get a response that matched our wishes, and the person in charge did not seem willing to take the case proactively. We became very anxious and started to feel, “Maybe this is not going to work…”.

After that, we also considered the option of my husband coming to Japan on a student visa, so I consulted the Japanese language school from which I had graduated. The teachers there kindly introduced ACROSEED to us. They contacted the person in charge, explained our situation, and we were told that “the probability of success is high.” My husband and I immediately went for a consultation, and we decided to formally request their support.

ACROSEED prepared a document list tailored to our specific circumstances, and whenever we had questions, the staff responded quickly and clearly. This was a great help to us. We completed the documents and submitted the application to the Tokyo Regional Immigration Services Bureau on July 20, and about one month later, the visa was successfully approved.

If anyone is currently considering a visa application, I would definitely recommend ACROSEED. I believe you will be able to feel the same sense of relief and happiness that we experienced. Thank you very much for everything.

Who This Case Will Help

In the examination of dependent visas, the supporter’s (international student’s) enrollment status, outlook for tuition and living expenses, consistency of explanations, and the way documents are structured are all important factors. Even if you have been turned down by another office or left without a clear answer, there are cases where the application can move forward once the situation is carefully organized.

  • International students who wish to invite a spouse from overseas to live together in Japan
  • Those who did not receive a positive or proactive response from another office
